Stuck inside, My Master Bedroom Makeover

Hello everyone,

As I write this post, I am seated at my desk, looking out the window. The view is fantastic because I have the best apartment in the complex, in my opinion! Every day I get to look out at the picturesque panoramic views of the golf course. But, the best part is watching the sun dance on the rippling water in the pond and the ducks taking their daily stroll.

Today, like most, the workers are busy readying the facility in anticipation of the course reopening. They are preparing for the once steady stream of golfers who frequented the trail, before social distancing.

I love this quote by Benjamin Franklin
"Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
I couldn't agree with him more.

I said all of that to say, it's time to put it in high gear. Instead of being bored, aggravated, complacent, and down-right mad, I choose to make the most of an unpleasant situation.

Today's post is all about getting things done now, and the steps I am taking to make i…

This too shall pass

Hi everyone,

It has been quite some time since my last post. Two years and four months to be exact, but who's counting. I am posting today to encourage/motivate you. Things are changing so rapidly in our society, and the coronavirus pandemic has most of us on edge. Some of us have never experienced anything of this magnitude, and the thought of illness, losing our jobs/everything we have worked for, and being isolated from family and friends can be quite scary, but be encouraged.

My prayer is that all will be well with you and yours. And that you will be intentional and live on purpose in the days and weeks ahead. Rest assured that this, too, shall pass!

The Reveal...How I Decorated My Christmas Tree/Foyer For Less Than $30

Today I am back to share the reveal of my Christmas Tree/Foyer. As I stated in my last post, this design was inspired by a promise I made to my grand baby. By the way, they came to visit last week and my oldest grand baby absolutely loved the tree/foyer. My plan was to video her expression but I dropped the ball, maybe next time.  If you recall my goal was to create a tree that my grand baby would love, but it had to be done on a shoestring budget. I think it's safe to say, I accomplished both. I was able to decorate the tree/foyer for less than $30. You heard me right!!! But I won't be sharing the final cost until the end of this post, so keep reading. OK, I've kept you waiting long enough. DRUM ROLL PLEASE! Here's the decorated Christmas Tree/Foyer.

Does this look like a space that was decorated for less than $30?  The only things I used to decorate this entire foyer for the most part, were Fairy Wings and tissue paper.

This tree was super simple to create. I simply p…

How I decorated my Christmas Tree/Foyer for less than $30

I am over the super excited to bring you one of several posts revealing how I decorated my Christmas Tree/Foyer for less than $30.Yes,you heard me right. And I must say it looks quite fabulous, but before the reveal can take place, we have to go through the process. Sorry!!! So, keep reading to find out how I transformed the space for so little. Each year I try to incorporate creative ways to decorate my home on an extremely tight budget, and this year was no exception. But in order to get the ball rolling on this project, I needed some inspiration. Well, my inspiration came via a promise I made to my grand baby. I promised her that Zsa Zsa(that's me) would decorate a Christmas tree she would love. However, with that being said, I also knew the design/decor had to be whimsical and playful enough for her. But it also had to appeal to the adults in the family as well.(mainly me) So, I put my design thinking cap on and came up with a plan, that I thought would appeal to both parties…

Bathroom Vanity Reveal

Several weeks ago I shared the demolition and tiling of our upstairs bathroom. So today, I am back to reveal the vanity that we chose for the space. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I wanted something super simple and no fuss.Plus, I wanted the vanity to be open concept.

So the Hubs drew up something to fit the bill. I also decided that I didn't want any shelves. Instead I would use decorative baskets to house all of our everyday items. So, with plans in tow we headed to our neighborhood home improvement store. There we picked out and purchased the items needed for the vanity.

The construction was super simple, and once the vanity was complete a couple coats of espresso stain was added to give the vanity a somewhat rustic patina.

Next a solid surface counter top as well as a drawer pull was added to complete the vanity.

I will do a post on the sources later.

This counter top was chosen for it's versatility, and I think it would pair well with most decor styles.

An Easy Craft Project For Kids...

Happy Friday, today I am popping in to share a cute little craft project that you can do with your kiddos over the Thanksgiving holiday. It's super easy inexpensive and oh so adorable. For this project you will need, a terracotta pot, craft paint and paint brushes. You will also need whatever it is you/kids would like to put inside the pot. The pot below was used to plant pansies but you can do what ever you like.

Next, carve out a space for the project and don't forget to protect the areas where the kids will be working. We set up an area outback for my grand baby, and she went to work creating not one but two masterpieces. One pot received a pumpkin and the other a turkey.

Is that the cutest turkey you've ever seen or what? Wow, talk about a budding artist! Grand babies are the best!!!!

Once the paint dried, the budding artist went to work filling her pots with potting soil. Then she added Pansies to each pot.

My daughter got in on the pot painting as well. She used her …
