Hello and Happy fall,
Are you looking for a quick and easy table setting idea that will last through Thanksgiving? If so, Check out this table.

These are the plates that I used to transform my table from drab to dramatic.

This is what the table looked like with just the plates, not to promising huh!

This is what I did to transform the table. I added the brown tablecloth, which is not really a tablecloth it's 2 1/2 yards of decorator fabric that I had from a previous project. I just put it on the table no sewing required. The black placemats are a remnant of upholstery fabric cut to the size of the other placemats.

I really wanted to add some drama to the table, so I added the zebra placemats, the animal print glasses and the pumpkin napkins. WOW!!!! ( I confess, I love animal prints).

The centerpiece was quick and easy. I filled the container with pine cones, then I added the pumpkin floral stems, no need for glue the pine cones held the stems in place. Before I added the sunflowers I removed the stems and placed them around the container. Then I added a few fall leaves.

Voila, I think it turned out quite lovely.

This table is casual enough to be used every day, but elegant enough to entertain family and friends.

Come back next week for another "Fall table setting" idea.

Bar Stool Makeover

Hi all, this week I have another makeover. Last week's post was a chair makeover, this week it's bar stools. Here's a little history of how I acquired the bar stools. I have a friend named John who owns a thrift store. One day, while shopping in his store I purchased a beautiful 1920's sleigh bed. As I was leaving John informed me that he had a gift for me, since I purchased the bed. My response was, "for little ole me". As he scurried to the back of the store I WAS SO EXCITED and I couldn't wait to see what the gift was. When I saw the bar stools I was SPEECHLESS!!!!!! They were WICKED NASTY! But how could I resist them, they were a gift with purchase (free). And besides they had  great potential. I brought the stools home and got busy. First, they had to be disassembled. Next, I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, so much so I was dizzE (dizzy). lol! I was in such a state of shock, I forgot to take a picture of the seat cushions. Trust me, you don't …

This too shall pass

Hi everyone,

It has been quite some time since my last post. Two years and four months to be exact, but who's counting. I am posting today to encourage/motivate you. Things are changing so rapidly in our society, and the coronavirus pandemic has most of us on edge. Some of us have never experienced anything of this magnitude, and the thought of illness, losing our jobs/everything we have worked for, and being isolated from family and friends can be quite scary, but be encouraged.

My prayer is that all will be well with you and yours. And that you will be intentional and live on purpose in the days and weeks ahead. Rest assured that this, too, shall pass!
