No More Clutter.....

Hello all and Happy New Year!
This year I have made a conscience decision to "Take Clutter by the Horns" and organize every room in my house, thanks to the folks over at Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. Their article on "Simple Storage Solutions to Keep You Organized" inspired me to get the ball rolling, and boy do I need to get organized. So,with that being said, my first order of business is to whip my master bedroom closets into shape. I have been perusing the Internet and below are some inspirational photos that I plan to incorporate in my own closet.

I love the simplicity of these closets. A place for everything and everything in it's place.

I love, love, love, the colorful boxes, and how the storage cart was used as a shoe rack. The clear shoe boxes get a thumbs up.  I really like them too!

How adorable is this? If I were a shoe I'd want to be stored in a box that looks like this.
Now it's time to get back to reality. I saved the EYE OPENING part for last.

This is how my closet looks at present. Keep Calm and Carry On, there's one pic remaining.

Yikes, I'm in clutter up to my eyeballs, Can somebody please help?
Come back next week as I began my "Take Clutter by the Horns saga". You don't want to miss it!

2 you Home,
 Lory

Do you have a closet that is totally organized and clutter free? If so, I would love to feature it on my blog. Email your pics to adtale@yahoo.com by 01/24/13.

Bar Stool Makeover

Hi all, this week I have another makeover. Last week's post was a chair makeover, this week it's bar stools. Here's a little history of how I acquired the bar stools. I have a friend named John who owns a thrift store. One day, while shopping in his store I purchased a beautiful 1920's sleigh bed. As I was leaving John informed me that he had a gift for me, since I purchased the bed. My response was, "for little ole me". As he scurried to the back of the store I WAS SO EXCITED and I couldn't wait to see what the gift was. When I saw the bar stools I was SPEECHLESS!!!!!! They were WICKED NASTY! But how could I resist them, they were a gift with purchase (free). And besides they had  great potential. I brought the stools home and got busy. First, they had to be disassembled. Next, I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, so much so I was dizzE (dizzy). lol! I was in such a state of shock, I forgot to take a picture of the seat cushions. Trust me, you don't …

This too shall pass

Hi everyone,

It has been quite some time since my last post. Two years and four months to be exact, but who's counting. I am posting today to encourage/motivate you. Things are changing so rapidly in our society, and the coronavirus pandemic has most of us on edge. Some of us have never experienced anything of this magnitude, and the thought of illness, losing our jobs/everything we have worked for, and being isolated from family and friends can be quite scary, but be encouraged.

My prayer is that all will be well with you and yours. And that you will be intentional and live on purpose in the days and weeks ahead. Rest assured that this, too, shall pass!

Stuck inside, My Master Bedroom Makeover

Hello everyone,

As I write this post, I am seated at my desk, looking out the window. The view is fantastic because I have the best apartment in the complex, in my opinion! Every day I get to look out at the picturesque panoramic views of the golf course. But, the best part is watching the sun dance on the rippling water in the pond and the ducks taking their daily stroll.

Today, like most, the workers are busy readying the facility in anticipation of the course reopening. They are preparing for the once steady stream of golfers who frequented the trail, before social distancing.

I love this quote by Benjamin Franklin
"Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
I couldn't agree with him more.

I said all of that to say, it's time to put it in high gear. Instead of being bored, aggravated, complacent, and down-right mad, I choose to make the most of an unpleasant situation.

Today's post is all about getting things done now, and the steps I am taking to make i…
