Office Update

This week was supposed to be the reveal of my home office make-over, but as you can see, I am no where close to being finished. The room is tiny, and it has turned out to be quite the challenge. But I am hopeful that it will be finished in the next week or so. If not, I will keep plugging away at it until I'm finished. Here's what I've done so far....   I removed all the contents from the room except for the file cabinet. I needed extra storage really bad, so I had to come up with a creative but  inexpensive solution to solve my storage dilemma. So here's what I did. I brought back the existing file cabinet and  added the black cabinet, which I snagged from another part of the house. The plan is to paint both cabinets green, then place a piece of 1x2 on top of the cabinets, in order to create a shelf.   The layout of the office will basically be the same as it was before, with the exception of adding extra storage and seating. So, the make-shi

Home Office Make-Over

I have been putting off the need to makeover my home-office for quite sometime. Honestly this project was on the very bottom of my to-do-list. But after careful consideration I came to the following conclusions. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE , and somethings gotta give.  My budget for this makeover is skinny, but I'm sure you already knew that. In fact, it's so skinny, it's almost none existent. Oh well, a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do. Shall we carry on..... Yikes, Ugh, OMG, can you believe that this is my office? I can't!     My office is at the top of the stairs, and to the right. I really like where it's located, because I can  see the foyer, living room dining room, front and back yard. It's a great spot, but it needs a face-lift. As I said earlier my budget is very, very skinny, so I will be reusing several, if not all of the existing pieces in the space.  Did you notice my make-ship desk? She's showing a lot of leg

Picture This

Hello and Happy Monday, I have been on a mad dash since the beginning of the year to de-clutter, organize and complete all my unfinished projects. I have to admit it's been quite a chore, but each day my to do list gets a wee bit smaller. I am in the process of hanging some much needed art work on my walls. So for the past several months hubby and I have been out and about taking pictures of whatever speaks to us. Since the budget is limited creating my own artwork will keep cost down. This is also a great way to have one of a kind art pieces in our home. Enjoy the pics!     This picture was taken at Historic Bok Tower Gardens, and I really like it, but I'm not quite sure where to hang it.   How bright bold and beautiful is this pic? I have just the place for it, in our living room.    Hmmmmmm!   I named this pic Honey Bee and It's a keeper. A white picture frame will really make this picture POP!       I would love to be sitting

Landing Makeover

Spring is in full swing and boy oh boy am I loving this beautiful weather. I've been busy cleaning, rearranging and sprucing things up a bit. Do your remember my landing transformation? If not you can see it here .             I really like the look of this space, but I wanted to freshen it up a bit. So, I figured the landing would be a great place to start. My budget was in defib , so I had to peruse the house in order to create a new look. Good thing I have a prop closet that houses all of my unused decorating paraphernalia. Any who let's get to the good part.       Here it is, fresh, clean and simple. I switched out the bench, flower pot, candlesticks, pillows and basket. Then I added the African bust , and gave the flower pot a shot in the arm with gold spray paint. Not to shabby considering I didn't spend a dime. I also came up with another look for this space, you"ll  see it at the end of the post. Enjoy the pics!

High Style Bedroom on a Budget

Hi all, hope you had a fantastic Easter. Earlier in the year I did a post on My Obsession with White. You can see it here . I have finally gotten around to sharing one of my white, well almost white rooms with you. I am a firm believer that good design doesn't have to cost a fortune, and I find myself constantly saying this to friends, family and clients. So today, I am going to put my money where my mouth is, and create a high style look on a shoestring budget.        The artwork by Gloria Eriksen above was my inspiration for this room. I found it one day while out thrifting. It's the same thrift store where I got the  bar stools from. I chose a color that blends seamlessly with the colors in the artwork. (Silverberry/by Behr). I really do like this color because it's gender friendly.    The lamps and side tables were purchased at a yard sale several years ago. Can you believe the side tables were only $4 for the pair? And the lamps were a steal for onl
