Landing Makeover

Spring is in full swing and boy oh boy am I loving this beautiful weather. I've been busy cleaning, rearranging and sprucing things up a bit. Do your remember my landing transformation? If not you can see it here.

I really like the look of this space, but I wanted to freshen it up a bit. So, I figured the landing would be a great place to start. My budget was in defib, so I had to peruse the house in order to create a new look. Good thing I have a prop closet that houses all of my unused decorating paraphernalia. Any who let's get to the good part.

Here it is, fresh, clean and simple. I switched out the bench, flower pot, candlesticks, pillows and basket. Then I added the African bust, and gave the flower pot a shot in the arm with gold spray paint. Not to shabby considering I didn't spend a dime. I also came up with another look for this space, you"ll  see it at the end of the post. Enjoy the pics!

I love, love, love, the pattern and all the bright bold colors in this fabric.

This look will come in handy in the future. By switching out the pillow and the vase, it gives this space a different look and feel.

Thanks for stopping by!

2 your home,

Bar Stool Makeover

Hi all, this week I have another makeover. Last week's post was a chair makeover, this week it's bar stools. Here's a little history of how I acquired the bar stools. I have a friend named John who owns a thrift store. One day, while shopping in his store I purchased a beautiful 1920's sleigh bed. As I was leaving John informed me that he had a gift for me, since I purchased the bed. My response was, "for little ole me". As he scurried to the back of the store I WAS SO EXCITED and I couldn't wait to see what the gift was. When I saw the bar stools I was SPEECHLESS!!!!!! They were WICKED NASTY! But how could I resist them, they were a gift with purchase (free). And besides they had  great potential. I brought the stools home and got busy. First, they had to be disassembled. Next, I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, so much so I was dizzE (dizzy). lol! I was in such a state of shock, I forgot to take a picture of the seat cushions. Trust me, you don't …

This too shall pass

Hi everyone,

It has been quite some time since my last post. Two years and four months to be exact, but who's counting. I am posting today to encourage/motivate you. Things are changing so rapidly in our society, and the coronavirus pandemic has most of us on edge. Some of us have never experienced anything of this magnitude, and the thought of illness, losing our jobs/everything we have worked for, and being isolated from family and friends can be quite scary, but be encouraged.

My prayer is that all will be well with you and yours. And that you will be intentional and live on purpose in the days and weeks ahead. Rest assured that this, too, shall pass!
