Front Door Inspiration

Hello all, I hope your week has been going great thus far. As of yet, I haven't done any home improvement projects and it's March already. So last weekend I decided it was time to put the pedal to the metal. Spring is less than two weeks away. And I wanted to welcome it by giving my front doors a fresh coat of paint, and some new wreaths. Currently, my front doors are red and I really like them, but it's time for a change. Lately, I have been searching the web for some front door inspiration. My house is a golden yellow so I am looking for a paint color that will make my front doors SING!!!! Below is a pic of my front door, and a few inspirational pics that caught my eye.

The color of my doors minus the wreaths.

Hubby really likes this one, but I am on the fence about it.
This deep purple caught my eye. Bold, Rich, Stunning, I like!!!!!!!
What better way to say welcome. I love this orange, hmm!

And last, but certainly not least, the classic and timeless black door. You can't go wrong with this color. I am still deciding on what color I will use but I am leaning towards...... Come back next week to find out the color I chose.

What color would you choose?

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. I vote for green!

  2. Oh I adore color! It is so cheerful and happy. If I didn't live in a HOA community I would have a turquoise door.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend!

    1. Laura,I love turquoise as well. If I had a beach house I think that would be the perfect color for front doors!

  3. Hi Lori, I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog. I read your 'about me' and we pretty much have the same goal... decorating on a By the way, I would choose the green, but that eggplant is a color that I don't see every day and I'm really liking that, too.

    1. Hi Dee, my husband likes the green as well but I'm not telling what color I chose. I have been extremely busy so I didn't get a chance to paint the doors. But hopefully I will get to them soon! Happy Spring!

Bar Stool Makeover

Hi all, this week I have another makeover. Last week's post was a chair makeover, this week it's bar stools. Here's a little history of how I acquired the bar stools. I have a friend named John who owns a thrift store. One day, while shopping in his store I purchased a beautiful 1920's sleigh bed. As I was leaving John informed me that he had a gift for me, since I purchased the bed. My response was, "for little ole me". As he scurried to the back of the store I WAS SO EXCITED and I couldn't wait to see what the gift was. When I saw the bar stools I was SPEECHLESS!!!!!! They were WICKED NASTY! But how could I resist them, they were a gift with purchase (free). And besides they had  great potential. I brought the stools home and got busy. First, they had to be disassembled. Next, I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, so much so I was dizzE (dizzy). lol! I was in such a state of shock, I forgot to take a picture of the seat cushions. Trust me, you don't …

This too shall pass

Hi everyone,

It has been quite some time since my last post. Two years and four months to be exact, but who's counting. I am posting today to encourage/motivate you. Things are changing so rapidly in our society, and the coronavirus pandemic has most of us on edge. Some of us have never experienced anything of this magnitude, and the thought of illness, losing our jobs/everything we have worked for, and being isolated from family and friends can be quite scary, but be encouraged.

My prayer is that all will be well with you and yours. And that you will be intentional and live on purpose in the days and weeks ahead. Rest assured that this, too, shall pass!

Stuck inside, My Master Bedroom Makeover

Hello everyone,

As I write this post, I am seated at my desk, looking out the window. The view is fantastic because I have the best apartment in the complex, in my opinion! Every day I get to look out at the picturesque panoramic views of the golf course. But, the best part is watching the sun dance on the rippling water in the pond and the ducks taking their daily stroll.

Today, like most, the workers are busy readying the facility in anticipation of the course reopening. They are preparing for the once steady stream of golfers who frequented the trail, before social distancing.

I love this quote by Benjamin Franklin
"Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
I couldn't agree with him more.

I said all of that to say, it's time to put it in high gear. Instead of being bored, aggravated, complacent, and down-right mad, I choose to make the most of an unpleasant situation.

Today's post is all about getting things done now, and the steps I am taking to make i…
