 The day I turned 50! Since my birthday fell in the middle of the week, I decided to celebrate Wednesday - Sunday. I figured you only turn 50 once so why not go for it. But I had know earthly idea that my family friends and coworkers would play such a huge part in my 50th birthday. Boy, was I in for a treat. On Wednesday my co-workers surprised me with a cake, balloons and a party hat. On Thursday I got all dolled up and the Hubby treated me to Red Lobster. You like my hat? After exercise class on Friday night Paul (fitness coach)  and the ladies treated me to cupcakes, cards and gifts. Sorry no pics.    sorry fuzzy Mandy Lou picked me up on Saturday for a birthday lunch and girl's day out.    We ate lunch at Bahama Breeze.   The shrimp and the salad were delish!             Mandy and I hung out until early evening and when we arrived home I was greeted with this (see the above pic). Christmas Home Tour 2011 at Bok Tower Gardens Part 2

This is an older post. I was doing something in my dashboard and I accidentally reposted this. Sorry, consider this an early Christmas gift. Enjoy the pics! Welcome back to part two of the series. Christmas Home Tour 2011. Last week I transformed the buffet. (see last weeks post). So the next order of business was to focus on the console fireplace and the area above the entrances.      This pic and the pic below gives you an idea of what I had to work with.                 The console received a quick makeover by adding a tabletop tree ( tomato cage in disguise) decorated with animal ornaments and ribbon. Carolers and prancing reindeer round out the vignette. Check out the Carolers they are decked out in animal print attire. cute cute cute.             An existing chair received a quick and easy Holiday makeover by adding fabric and a decorated box.          The fireplace received stockings, poinsettias, wreaths

Touches of Fall

Last weekend the weather was absolutely perfect here. The high was about 80 degrees and the low was a pleasant 64 degrees. It is finally starting to feel like Fall in our neck of the woods. So we opened up the windows and enjoyed the day/evening. Since the weather was nice and it  was such a lovely day, I felt that this would be the perfect time to share my "Touches of Fall" with you. I keep my Fall decorating at a minimum by doing just enough to welcome the season. Isn't this potpourri beautiful? It's not only beautiful but it smells yummy too. You can read about it   here . I also added the artwork and it happens to be one of my favorite pieces. A friend of mine picked it up at a yard sale years ago. Thanks Fannie! I found these cute little pumpkins at the Dollar Tree. I think they look marvelous with the ginger jar.  I couldn't resist, so the white pumpkins were added to the foyer chests as well.   I also did a quick and easy center
