Tiling the Master Bath Floor

Hi all today I am back with part two of our master bathroom renovation. In a previos post you saw the ugly side of reno, but this weeks post will be a little easier on the eyes, if you know what I mean. We chose 12x12 Calcutta white tiles for the bathroom floor, and since Hubby and I both loved it, it was a no brainer!     Once the tile selection was agreed upon the next step was to decide how we wanted to lay the tile. I was fine with laying the tile down in the traditional pattern, but Hubby had something else in mind. So he sourced the internet until he came up with a pattern that he really liked. He decided to lay the tile in a cobblestone pattern and I gave his decision a thumbs up. So the next step was to do a dry run. Hubby placed each tile down in the pattern of choice. This gave him a general idea as to how the finished product would look, as well as how many cuts he would need to make. But more importantly he would know whether or not he really liked the cobblestone

Small Cakes Thomasville Georgia

Winter has finally come to our neck of the woods. So today, I am actually sitting by the fire and enjoying a steamy cup of coffee, as I reminisce about a trip I took last summer. My daughter and I are like two peas in a pod. And every chance we get we like to plan weekend outings. On one of our outings we traveled to Thomasville Georgia and browsed the beautiful shops in the downtown area. When we get together we always make it a point to throw our healthy eating habits out of the window. That way we can enjoy a sweet treat or whatever else we want to eat without the guilt and all the pleasure. Our motto is "eat it and enjoy it". And that's exactly what we do. On this particular outing my daughter had the perfect place in mind. Her exact words were, "Mom you're going to love this place". So we headed to..........   Small Cakes Cupcakery  This is one of the most adorable places I have ever seen. So before we placed our order Alyson@smallcakesthomasvil

Master Bath Remodel.....Demolition

Happy New Year again. I hope your new year is off to a great start. I am excited about todays post so bear with me, this is part one of a three part post. In August of 2013 we had another pipe to spring a leak in our master bathroom you can see it here.   Since Hubby had to jack hammer the floor we decided that this would be a great time to redo the master bath. via I found this pic and the one below and they were the source of my inspiration for our space. I knew for certain that I wanted the bathroom to be mostly white with light gray walls. via I love the addition of yellow that was brought in by using fresh flowers.     Since the leak was under the vanity it had to be completely torn out. YAY! So my guy/guys got busy with the demo.       Hold onto your hats you have just entered the demolition/danger zone!     This place is about to blow!!!      The shower surround was ripped out as well and it will be replaced with tile. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year all! Can you believe it's 2016. 2015 flew by in seemingly record speed and I still can't believe it's a wrap. Since I am not a fan of new years resolutions each year I reflect back on the previous year. And I make a check list of what worked, what didn't, and what could make what worked even better. I hope I didn't confuse you with that statement. Every year I purpose in my heart to be the best I can be in spirit, soul and body. However, I will be sharing some of my goals dreams and desires in upcoming posts, so stay tuned. Ok enough of that. Today I decided that I would share snippets of my number one post since I have been blogging. " No More Clutter " a three part post of my master bedroom closet make-over. via Since my closet was so small I had to come up with a general idea as to how I wanted it to look. And the pic above was doable for my space.       It's sad to say but this is how the closet looked before the tra
